Sacred Heart Strings

The Sacred Heart Strings is an extracurricular activity that fosters faith growth through a shared love of music. What could be better than jamming with friends after school? Our group, consisting of fifth and sixth graders, takes on leadership roles by leading weekly masses and participating in other requested activities. After Christmas, we welcome the fourth grade group into the fold, expanding our musical family.

Guitar Practice

As our group continues to grow, we are constantly learning new music and instruments. Practice sessions are typically held three days a week during the school day. To ensure progress, regular attendance at weekly lessons is required. Additionally, students are expected to practice at home for at least 30 minutes each day between lessons. This daily practice is crucial for developing calluses on the fingertips, reducing discomfort while playing, and progressing through the initial learning stages.

In the spirit of fairness to the group, students who fail to practice daily and keep up with the group may be asked to suspend lessons and try again next year. Our goal is to have new guitarists ready to perform at least one of the daily masses before Christmas. Join us on this musical journey of faith and growth at Sacred Heart School!
